ForgeVPS is software for servers you control. Use the workspace hosted by ForgeVPS, or use an eligible lifetime purchase to install it on your own server. Existing paid customers retain their self-hosting eligibility under their current plan. Self-hosting gives you a licence to run the software, not ownership of its code.

Who you are contracting with

ForgeVPS is operated and supplied by Gary Jensen, an individual operating as ForgeVPS in British Columbia, Canada. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “ForgeVPS” refer to Gary Jensen. Contact: gary@forgevps.com.

These terms apply to the hosted service, Apple apps and self-hosted software. Review them before purchasing, approving an installation or using ForgeVPS. If you act for a business, you must be authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. You must be old enough to enter into this agreement.

Hosted and self-hosted workspaces

In hosted mode, ForgeVPS runs the browser workspace and connects to your machine over SSH. In self-hosted mode, the workspace, local sign-in and operational database run on infrastructure you control. Your browser connects to that installation directly; ForgeVPS.com does not relay its terminal, file or database sessions.

ForgeVPS does not supply your VPS, domain or paid AI services. You arrange and pay for those separately. Features and supported platforms can differ between editions and preview releases. Current self-hosted releases target supported Ubuntu/Debian Linux systems; review the installer and release requirements before installing.

Apple apps

The iPhone, iPad and Mac apps connect directly to your VPS over SSH using a separate private key held on each device. Account and purchase services verify your access; they do not proxy your workspace traffic. Your eligible plan also gives you hosted website access, but device machine connections are separate. Installing the Apple app does not require the lifetime-only licence for the separate self-hosted web panel.

Connect each device separately. Shared workspace state lives on your VPS. You are responsible for backups, device security and revoking public keys on your server when needed. Deleting an account does not delete your VPS or automatically cancel an Apple subscription. Apple app use is also subject to the Apple Standard License Agreement.

Your machines and root access

You must own or be authorised to administer every machine you use with ForgeVPS. Hosted connections use an SSH key with root access. Self-hosted setup requires administrator privileges and configures a local root workspace connection. The panel service and its machine-management connection may run under different Linux accounts.

Commands, file operations, deployments, database administration and system configuration can alter or delete anything accessible to root. You authorise the operations you request, including installation of packages and changes to services, web-server configuration and firewall rules. Maintain your own backups and protect access to the workspace and your server.

To revoke hosted SSH access, remove the ForgeVPS public key from your server and terminate any existing authenticated sessions. Disconnecting a machine in the UI does not automatically remove that key. For a self-hosted installation, stop or uninstall its services and revoke its local access using your server administrator access.

Monthly and lifetime plans

Monthly access is $4.99 USD per month and renews automatically until cancelled. Lifetime access is a one-time payment of $24.99 USD. Apple prices are localized by storefront. The purchase confirmation shows the applicable price, currency and taxes before you pay. Existing complimentary lifetime accounts keep their access.

Both plans include the hosted workspace. For new customers, self-hosted installations and update downloads require lifetime access; existing paid customers retain self-hosting eligibility while their original plan remains eligible. Trials do not grant self-hosted downloads or installation licenses. Cancel website subscriptions through Billing and Apple subscriptions through your Apple subscription settings. Website subscriptions have up to seven days of grace after a failed renewal; Apple access follows Apple’s subscription status and any applicable grace period. A lifetime purchase made on the website stops future ForgeVPS website monthly renewals without refunding the current month. An Apple lifetime purchase does not automatically cancel another subscription; cancel any existing subscription separately.

The website offers an eligible account one three-day hosted trial, started explicitly without payment details. It does not renew or charge automatically. Eligible Apple monthly subscribers can receive a three-day introductory trial when displayed on the purchase screen; it renews at the displayed monthly price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple determines introductory-offer eligibility. Lifetime purchases have no trial.

Grandfathered monthly self-hosted installations periodically verify access online and cache signed confirmations for up to seven days. When access expires, the ForgeVPS workspace locks. Your deployed apps, files, databases and SSH access are unchanged. Lifetime installations retain permanent offline workspace access.

Lifetime covers hosted access while the product is operated and updates while they are made available. It does not promise that development, support or the hosted service will continue forever. The continued-use rights for downloaded releases are set out in the software licence below.

After successful checkout, access is normally enabled electronically on your account once payment is confirmed. Installations and update downloads require account authorisation. Enabling automatic updates authorises the installation to check for and install available releases; you can turn that option off in your installation.

Your software licence

Ownership and scope

ForgeVPS is licensed, not sold. Gary Jensen, operating as ForgeVPS in British Columbia, Canada, retains ownership of the original ForgeVPS software, including its source code, compiled code, interface assets and documentation. Delivery of readable code, a download, an installer or a container does not transfer copyright or make that code open source. Third-party components are addressed separately below.

This licence forms part of the ForgeVPS terms of service. It covers the original ForgeVPS code in both hosted and self-hosted editions. The applicable version is supplied with the release. No rights are granted except those expressly stated here or provided by applicable law.

What your plan permits

An eligible lifetime plan grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use ForgeVPS for your personal use or your own business operations. It currently includes unlimited self-hosted installations on machines you own or are authorised to administer. Existing complimentary lifetime accounts and completed lifetime purchases, including fully discounted purchases, qualify. You may keep reasonable backup copies and make private modifications necessary to operate your licensed installations.

Existing paid monthly customers retain the same usage and installation permissions for the duration of their subscription and any stated grace period. New monthly plans and free trials include hosted workspace access only; they do not grant proprietary application downloads, self-hosted installation rights or self-hosted updates. Monthly installations periodically verify access online and can use a signed cached confirmation for up to seven days. Subscription expiry limits access to the ForgeVPS workspace; it does not stop your deployed applications, delete your data or remove SSH access. Lifetime installations retain permanent offline access to licensed downloaded releases.

You may use ForgeVPS to build, deploy and operate your own products and client projects. Your applications, code, data and output remain yours. Charging for those applications or for your administration work is permitted; selling access to ForgeVPS itself or distributing its code is not. People who administer the software on your behalf must act within your licence and keep its copies and credentials private.

Anyone may download and run the publicly provided bootstrap installer solely to obtain or update an authorised ForgeVPS installation. This permission does not grant access to paid application downloads or permission to redistribute proprietary application code.

What is not permitted

Without Gary Jensen's prior written permission, you may not publish, share, redistribute, sublicense, sell, rent or otherwise supply the original ForgeVPS source code, compiled code, release archives, installers that contain proprietary code, or modified copies to others. This does not prevent sharing the public download link; each recipient must obtain their own authorised access.

You may not offer ForgeVPS, a rebranded version, or a service built from its proprietary code as a hosted panel, white-label product or competing service for third parties. You may not copy its proprietary code or assets into another distributed product, remove or alter ownership and licence notices, share licence credentials with other customers, or bypass payment and download authorisation to obtain software or updates you are not entitled to receive.

These restrictions do not prohibit independent development that does not copy protected material. They do not restrict any act that applicable law permits and does not allow us to restrict by contract, including applicable rights concerning backups, interoperability or security research. Private inspection of your authorised installation for security and operation is permitted; that permission does not grant a right to redistribute the code.

Third-party and open-source software

Third-party components remain subject to their own licences, copyright notices and any applicable source-code obligations. Those licences control your rights in those components and are not replaced or narrowed by this proprietary licence. The self-hosted distribution includes third-party notices and dependency licence files. The presence of open-source dependencies does not place original ForgeVPS code under an open-source licence.

Downloads, updates and continued operation

An eligible ForgeVPS account is required to authorise new installations and update downloads. Lifetime access includes future ForgeVPS updates while they are made available, without a recurring licence fee; it does not guarantee perpetual development, hosting or support.

A self-hosted release authorised under a lifetime plan has no recurring online licence check required to open the workspace. A ForgeVPS.com outage or discontinuation does not terminate your right to continue using a release you lawfully obtained under this licence. Your installed software can continue operating subject to your infrastructure, third-party dependencies and compliance with this licence. Download and update services may be unavailable during an outage or after discontinuation.

Termination and mandatory rights

We may terminate this licence for a material breach, subject to applicable law and any required notice or opportunity to remedy it. A refund or lawful cancellation of a purchase ends the corresponding paid licence unless we agree otherwise. After a licence has validly ended, you must stop using and distributing ForgeVPS and remove its proprietary copies, except copies the law permits or requires you to retain. Your own applications, data and third-party software remain yours or governed by their own licences; no remote deletion of them is authorised by this clause.

Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer, privacy or other statutory rights. This licence is governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, subject to any mandatory protections or jurisdiction rights applicable where you live. Acceptable use and your content

You are responsible for your applications and activity on your machines.
Do not use ForgeVPS to access systems without permission, distribute malware, attack others or otherwise break applicable law.
Your code, files, data and configuration remain yours. We receive only the permission needed to carry out the operations you request.

Privacy

The privacy notice distinguishes hosted processing from information retained in your self-hosted installation. It describes account, payment, licence, operational and optional usage records. Accepting these terms does not waive privacy rights or replace consent where separate consent is required.

Outages, discontinuation and account deletion

Your VPS and deployed applications remain under your control. A hosted outage does not intentionally stop them. A self-hosted workspace does not require ForgeVPS.com to be available for local sign-in or ordinary use; installation and update downloads do require the hosted licensing service.

Deleting your hosted account ends its hosted access and removes its installation authorisations for future downloads and updates. It does not uninstall a self-hosted workspace or delete its local data. A validly licensed release you already obtained remains subject to the continued-use and termination provisions above. You manage local accounts, backups and uninstalling software on your own infrastructure.

Refunds and cancellation rights

Contact gary@forgevps.com with your purchase details if you need to cancel or request a refund. Discretionary refund requests are considered individually; we do not advertise an additional money-back guarantee. This does not restrict cancellation, refund or other remedies required by applicable consumer law, including British Columbia law where applicable.

Availability, warranty and liability

There is no guaranteed uptime or support response time. To the extent permitted by law, ForgeVPS is provided as available without additional warranties, and our aggregate liability relating to the service or software is limited to the amount you paid for ForgeVPS. None of these exclusions or limits applies where the law prohibits it or excludes statutory warranties, consumer remedies or liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Keep independent backups; software that operates as root can cause data loss or disruption.

Changes and governing law

We will identify updates with a new version or date and provide notice of material changes through the service or an account contact method. Where fresh agreement is required, we will request it. Posting new terms alone does not retroactively remove rights in a previously licensed self-hosted release. The licence supplied with that release remains applicable unless you agree to a replacement.

These terms are governed by British Columbia law and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Courts in British Columbia have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections and any right you have to bring a claim in another jurisdiction. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
